Wytten's Birth Story

July 4th was just another normal day; we were going to have a BBQ and fireworks later on, nothing out of the normal for the 4th. We didn't have much planned so i slept in til about 11 o'clock little did i know it would be the last time i slept mostly through the night and slept in for awhile. We were going to my grandma jene's house later on so we just stayed home and got some things done around the house. I had started cleaning the outside of the windows, but never finished because i needed ikes help. I got the windows all done, ike got his fish tank all cleaned that was way overdue; though he did make a mess in the tub so i decided i might as well clean it. I got all of this done and during this time i was having back pains about every 15 to 20 minutes, i wasn't too worried about anything cause i didn't think they were contractions...now i know i have a pretty high pain tolerance and was having contractions. We got showered and all cleaned up and ready and headed to my grandma's house for the BBQ; on our way there my pains started to get worse and were occurring about every 5 minutes, but i wasn't about to tell ike we were on our way to a party.

We arrived at my grandma's house and we were the first ones there, the pains got even worse occurring every 2 minutes now. I felt like i needed to poop so i went in and tried though once i got in there i was scared to try for fear something might happen. So i went back outside and sat on ikes lap trying to endure the pain. Then once my mom got there she asked how far apart my contractions were...i told her 2 minutes and she said i think you better go to the doctor. I said no i can wait a little bit longer i think, they were going to start making hamburger and eat, but after a couple more i turned to ike and said okay i think we should go. We headed to the ER and walked in and i told them i thought i was in labor, they said okay lets get you checked in and then we'll have the L&D nurse come in and get ya. We got all checked in about 6:15 the nurse said to lay down and she would check me, i was dilated to 6 cm, she said you aren't going anywhere so lets get ya all hooked up and your IV in and i will go and call Dr. Miller. My contractions were getting a lot worse and i was starting to not be able to endure them; it helped a lot to have ike there so i could squeeze his hand when needed. I pretty much kept my eyes closed the whole time during my labor, it seemed to help me focus better i think. The anesthesiologist came in and got my epidural going around 7:20, it made a world of difference and i was grateful for it. Not long after it kicked i thought my water might have broke, or i peeded some, we never really figured out for sure or if they did they never told me which it was. After this all happened dr. miller came in and said it was time to start pushing, i couldn't feel my contractions so they had to tell me when to push. I pushed for about 15-20 minutes....that is when the greatest miracle occurred and we welcome the most handsomed little boy Wytten Jay Williams into this world at 7:52. He weighed 6 lbs 5 ozs and was 20 inches long. After my labor which they had told me was very fast and easy for a first time mother, they asked me if i had taken any birthing classes, i answered with hesitation and said ugh no.....the nurse said well we need you to come and teach classes to first time mothers on how to be calm, because you didn't scream or make any noises at all. I had marlie my sister in the room so she could take pictures and she did an amazing job; my mom, dad and shaunie were out in the hall pacing and patiently waiting. My mom was so anxious that she would put her ear up next to the door to listen and sanitized her hands numerous times so she could hold the little guy as soon as he was here. Ike was able to give him his first bath and then wytten came in so i could feed him and then he fell asleep and slept for about 4 hrs and woke up to eat again. His temperature was low and they weren't able to keep it up so we had to keep him wrapped up in warm blankets all the time. Everyone said he looked just like me, but had dad's hands with long fingers; he also had long skinny feet and a long tongue which he absolutely loves.

I was so excited that he was finally here and it was amazing the feeling that came in the room after he arrived. That first time he was placed on me was something i will never forget, i was speechless and it was breathtaking. Then once they got him all cleaned up and put him skin to skin that was even more amazing, he was my little angel and he had finally arrived. I thought that he kind of looked like my grandpa lynn which was scary and made me a little emotional; it was crazy to think he was just with him up in heaven and now he is here on earth with me. Hopefully he has taught him how to be a good boy for his lil jo to take care of....one thing i do believe he taught him was how to fart, definitely takes after his grandpa lynn when it comes to farting. I love how he will fart and just raise his eyebrows and continue to go about his day...just like my grandpa use to do. Love you grandpa so much and thanks for taking care of my little guy for me!! :)
