Island Park

The Williams Family Reunion was the Sunday the family was leaving to head up to Island Park, Ike had to work that night so we went to the reunion then headed back home so he could get to work and get everything loaded up, and get the ranger ready. Ike got home from work the following morning and we headed up around 9; it was a very long ride, Wytten was so tired that he cried the almost the whole way up, poor Kass who had to listen to it the entire time as well. The day we got up there we headed into West Yellowstone and did some shopping and walked around. The following day we headed up to Jackson Hole, I was excited to go since how I have never been up there and everyone is always talking about it. We shopped there as well and walked around looking at all the different sites; I couldn't believe how expensive everything was there, I found a dress I liked, looked at the price tag $219.00, it definitely wasn't that cute. We did however find a really good gelato place that we stopped at. It was delicious. We debated on going back again before we left. The next day we floated the river. It never fails we always end up getting into water fights with the other rafts in the family. Wytten hated it when they would start splashing us, he screamed so I tried to make sure he was covered and he screamed during that as well. It was pretty funny though how drenched we would get and then we would call truths...which never means anything with Ike's family. The next day we headed into the park to go to Old Faithful and then we decided we wanted to continue with the loop and see if we could see any other animals. We say some elk and lots of buffalo. There was a huge heard of buffalo that were starting to cross the road in front of us so we stopped so we could get some good pictures. Then they almost started fighting right in front of our car and almost hit it, needless to say Ike was freaking out about his car and hoping they didn't hit it. We got back into West Yellowstone and thought we would try and find a cake since how it was Wyttens birthday so we could sing to him. We couldn't find one anywhere, finally found a ice cream cake at Dairy Queen, they had two, the only two that existed in West Yellowstone. The guy that helped Ike was arab and he told him to come around back, so Ike goes to the back and the guy tells him to come in, so he is standing where they are cooking the food waiting for the guy to get the cakes. First of all it was freakin expensive, second the guy didn't know what kinds either of them were, third it wasn't decorated so Ike asked him if he could atleast write Happy Birthday Wytten Boy on it. He had no idea how to spell Hapy Birthday and then as you will see in the picture below it looks like a kindergartner wrote on it. It was pretty funny the things you happen when you are on vacation. We got back to the cabin and hurry and sang to wytten then headed to go and watch the fireworks. Wytten loved them, thank goodness, he was so tired, yet so amazed by them he just sat and stared at them. The following day we woke up and got everything packed up and cleaned and then headed on our way home. The trailer that had the ranger on it got two flat tires on the way home, it took us forever to get home. We only had one spare tire with us so when the second one blew we had to try and find a tire shop close by and buy another one so we could continue on home. We found one close by, made our way to the shop, got two new tires on and then continued home. Also during our week stay Ike and Zac were sleeping out on the deck of the cabin and Ike had a bat land on him in the night when he was sleeping. On the girls morning run they came across a mom and baby moose that was fairly close to them and later on came over by our cabin and we watched them for awhile.

Needless to say Island Park was a pretty adventurous and memorable trip this year!! Can't wait until we go again next year and what memories we will make.
