Wytten 18 Months

If we are being honest, I don't remember much about his doctors appointment. All I can remember was that he wasn't feeling very good, so we went to the doctor on Christmas Eve and he was close to 18 months so we did it then as well. He didn't have to get any shots at this appointment which was good considering who knows how he would have been on Christmas. He weighed 25.75 lbs and was 34 inches long. Not very high in percentile for weight, but he is up there for his height.

This little stinker has become very independent, he does not want your help with anything and throws a fit when you try to help him. He wants to do it himself. He has mastered the scowl and has quite the personality. He pulls so many different faces, my favorite is all the different ones he pulls when he is jabbering to you. On the days that I work and Ike watches him he wants me at night, but when I am home with him, all he wants is Ike at night. It is the strangest thing that he catches on to that and knows who he has been with all day and wants nothing to do with them when the other gets home.  He has started to laugh when he sees funny things happen on tv, just a little chuckle and a huge smile on his face. He still loves to watch Mickey Mouse, the go to show when something is wrong or I need to get something done. When we are rocking to sleep he loves to have atleast 3 blankets with him in the chair, if he can see one, he wants it. He went through a phase of climbing out of his crib, it made me nervous for a bit but then he stopped doing it which was a good thing. I thought for sure nap time was over with. I am just waiting for myself to kick in gear and get his bedspread done then we will change it into a toddler bed.

He has really started jabbering and I am just waiting for him to one day be able to carry on a conversation with me and it will just happen out of the blue. He says mom, dad, uh oh, oww, ball, puppy, papa (in a quiet voice), buh bye, shoe, hot, and no..no..no (while shaking his finger). We are still working on lots of other words and being able to understand what things are. I want him to be able to talk, but then that means he is growing up so then I don't want him to.

When it comes to food this kid is picky (i blame myself for that) but once he finds something he likes he will eat it super good. He loves fries and fry sauce...really anything he can dip he likes. He still loves his fruit snacks and goldfish. His new thing is to eat breakfast then we watch mickey mouse or build with his blocks then he goes to the fridge and wants to eat a string cheese. He has started to grab your hand when he wants something and will take you to what he wants (sometimes you know, other times it is a guessing game).

He loves to pull all of his books out of the nightstand and has really started to like reading a bedtime story, which I absolutely love, it is such good bonding time (even though we generally read the same ones). He loves his building blocks he got for christmas, he will carry the bag to me so I will open them, but he has to be the one to dump them out. Balls are his new favorite toy and word. He will dig to the bottom of his toy box just so he can find his football. He is a good thrower, doesn't get the concept of catching the ball yet. He runs around the house kicking the ball like its nobody's business, Ike hopes he doesn't end up liking soccer. He has became quite obsessed with hats, when I am getting him dressed grabs one, when I am changing his bum he grabs one, and after bath time once he is in his pajamas he grabs one. He looks like a gangster when he puts it on himself, a cute little gangster I might add.

We bought him a mickey toilet seat and thought we would try to start having him sit on it before he gets in the tub. He will sit on it for a second, but not for very long. We haven't gotten him to go in the potty yet, but we are still working on it slowly, but surely. He will sit on there and grunt and most of the times fart a couple times, I am just waiting for one of these times for him to get more than he bargained for.

Love is definitely an understatement when it comes to Tyke. He wants to always be holding him, playing with him, or feeding him his food along with the food he doesn't want to eat. He gets so mad when Tyke jumps down from his lap and then tries to grab him again. He likes to chase him around the living room and will lay on the floor with him and let him lick him and he just laughs.

He loves to be outside. Loves the new sandbox in the backyard and could sit out there forever. He also just loves to run around on the grass and chase the dogs back and forth. I can't wait for summer, or for it to just warm up some so we can go outside and play and go on walks.

Happy New Year

New Years Eve was pretty boring for us, Ike was sick with Bronchitis so he was constrained to our bedroom, Wytten still didn't feel good, going on two weeks now, but they say nothing is wrong with him, then to top it all off on Sunday I woke up with a pinched nerve in my neck and couldn't get out of bed. By New Years Eve it had gotten a little better which was good considering everyone else was sick. So we spent the night not partying at all. Wytten and I sat on the couch and watched some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, he fell asleep in my arms and I treasured that for quite some time and then took him into his bed and then I made my bed on the couch and was off to bed. Yay!! Hopefully next year is a little bit better to us.

Hardware Ranch

Ike's family all decided that we were going to go over to Hardware Ranch on Sunday. Well I woke up with a pinched nerve in my neck not really being able to move, thanks to Dr. Rigby for coming in on a Sunday to work on my, I was able to go with the rest of the family to see all the Elk. Wytten loved the snow, all the animals and especially the horses.
